PRS SHOOTING POSITIONS

Precision Rifle Shooting events are designed to challenge the shooter. Being prepared to shoot from awkward positions, uneven surfaces and through cut-outs is part of the discipline and the fun. Prepare yourself with the right props, supports and tripods.

These lightweight bags are useful supports when shooting from tank traps and the likes.

Keeping the arm supported and stable is extremely difficult without a support. These bags weigh very little and slip over the forearm.

This is a tip I picked up from a recent trip to Norway for the Viking Rifle Series. As long hikes up snowy mountains are involved, weight and bulk are key considerations when deciding what to take in one's pack. Shooters are careful to select only the most essential equipment. I was surprised to see competitors with such large bags but understandably interested when I found out how little they weighed.
